Lea Daley was born to create and communicate. She has written fiction and poetry while raising two children, claiming a lesbian identity, earning a BFA (summa cum laude) in painting, teaching both preschoolers and college students, surviving the death of her only daughter, and heading a nonprofit agency that serves low-income working families in the inner-city. Retired now, she writes full-time.
A hard-core liberal, Lea follows politics and enjoys animated debates at the dinner table. She travels whenever possible, enjoying both great cities and quiet ocean shores—especially the beaches on Florida’s “Forgotten Coast.” Because baking is a passion, her freezer almost always contains homemade desserts and she’s happy to share recipes with anyone.
Lea resides in St. Louis, Missouri. She married her long-time partner the day after the city began issuing licenses in 2014. To her immense regret, her son and his family live across the state.
