Jessie Mercer has it all—fame, fortune, and a best-selling novel being made into a major motion picture starring the alluring Taylor Andrews.
When disturbing, real-life events begin mimicking the movie’s plot, Jessie and Taylor find themselves drawn into a unforeseen web of passion, treachery, and deception that uncovers secrets and betrayals of a distant past.
As the terror mounts, Jessie realizes she is the target and must go back—all the way back to Salem, where answers to the mystery unfold—before the evil from the past destroys both of them.

The Lesbian Review
…opens in a courtroom for the trial of Rebecca Johnson accused of witchcraft. This is the recurring dream that author Jessica Mercer has been having, and it's driving her crazy. The story drew me right in. It's a great mystery with a romance that withstands the test of time. It was interesting and despite the cons it had a charming love story.
Lesbian Review of Books
Back to Salem is an entertaining novel with a lot of twists, turns, precognition and parallel time travel. Marcoux's writing is superb. You won't be able to put the book down. The plot is imaginative, to say the least, and the story line is instructive and engaging.

Laura DeHart Young - November, 2001: If you think you've read Alex Marcoux's novel, Back to Salem, before--you're probably experiencing a past life memory, better known as deja vu. To further explore this phenomena, you could buy a book on metaphysics or schedule an appointment with a psychic to experience a hypnotic past-life regression. Or you could just continue reading Marcoux's book and experience all of this and more through the main character, Jessie Mercer. Back to Salem is an entertaining novel with a lot of twists, turns, precognition and parallel time travel. Marcoux's writing is superb. You won't be able to put the book down.
