The Liaison

by Nat Burns

When Lily Dawson’s estranged father passes away, she’s forced to return to her childhood home in New Mexico to settle his affairs and prepare the sprawling cattle ranch for sale.

Once there, Lily is dumbfounded by what she discovers. It seems that her Air Force father has been assisting the federal government in protecting the United States from alien threats—threats from other worlds.

Lily has no intention of taking her father’s place in his work. But when a new menace emerges, she reluctantly steps in to fill his shoes.

Airman Hunter Moon has been assigned to bring Lily Dawson safely to the President. Their attraction is immediate and when Lily is hurt, Hunter is there. And Hunter will always be there.

This is the first adventure in the Desert Willow Series.

FROM THE AUTHOR

"I really enjoyed returning to my science fiction roots in my new romance. The Liaison is a story about a young waitress, Lily Dawson, who, returning to her childhood home to deal with her deceased father’s affairs, encounters something she didn’t quite expect. She had no idea that her estranged Air Force father was serving as a liaison between the United States government and creatures from another dimension, the InterDimensionalBeings, or IDBs. Now, as a new crisis threatens earth, Lily finds that she must take her father’s place, even risking her life to save the people of her world.

Medical Airman, Hunter Moon, is instrumental in Lily’s recovery and then easily steals her heart. I fell a little in love with Hunter myself, not just because of her beauty but because of her good-natured acceptance of an insane situation that could easily have frightened her away.

This book is the first in my Desert Willow series, set in the desert of Western New Mexico. I hope you will enjoy this departure from my usual books and travel with me into the world of interdimensional beings, alien greys and love growing amidst chaos."

Reviews

The Lesbian Review
The entire story just flows so seamlessly from one scenario to the next. I really love the detailed description of the New Mexico landscape and I really enjoyed the way the author brought the numerous characters to life with the use of witty dialogue and by giving them quirky personalities. This story is going to have you hooked from the beginning. I was caught up in Lily’s world as she struggled with the death of her father, disbelief about the huge task she was about to undertake and guilt over the tough but necessary choices she had to make. I was just blown away by the appearance of the extraterrestrial beings and their relationship with the people on Earth. If you enjoy stories about other life forms, women in uniform, breathtaking landscapes with a dash of romance thrown in for good measure, then this is definitely the story for you!

Lex’s Reviews - This book was really interesting. That really is the best way to describe it. When I was reading it, I wasn’t saying “wow, I really liked this” but I was absolutely hooked from the first few pages. This book interested and entertained me enough that I would want to read another from the series. It’s a pretty big wide open premise that could produce some exciting new stories.
