Cate Delacy is glad she’s a witch—and you can take that any ol’ way you like.
As a very mortal woman she has a target on her back, so she has no intention of following in her mother’s footsteps as an enforcer for the Council of Supernatural Beings. She didn’t ask to be a Guardian and she has to pay her bills. Opening the Darkmirror Agency is her solution. Her clients are mostly human and they pay on time.
But one day it all goes to Hell, figuratively. Then literally.
Because that’s the day the Council’s detective Jacqueline Slone slinks her way into Cate’s life. Jacq. So alluring. So powerful. So immortal. And up to her sexy neck in a secret that will unleash Hell’s Belle.
Marie Castle’s unpredictable Darkmirror world is unveiled in this romantic, sizzling debut.

The Rainbow Hub
Sweet, brave and terrified...Things take off with sparks galore... Sometimes a story is about a hero going up against a villain and how their interaction changes and elevates the hero. But most of the time, life is about every day heroes going on about their day, with villainous machinations only in the background right up until the moment they're not. Most of us never see the bad guy until the confrontation and our stories, like Cate's, are about the day-to-day details that get us that far. I like seeing that reflected here.
Queerly Reading Lesbian
Marie Castle Revitalizes the Lesfic Dark Urban Fantasy Landscape! I was drawn to her ability to blend a depth of literary knowledge and re-package it in a non-alienating manner; thereby leaving no reader out of the story. Blending depth of research into a very accessible story takes a deft hand, and Castle does that well.
