Over the Moon With You

by Jaime Clevenger

Paige Dannenberg has never taken a water aerobics class. As a busy farm vet, she’s never even given a second thought to water aerobics. But when she gets roped into teaching her mom’s class, it’s time to learn a new skillset—and fast.

Lately the unexpected is the new norm for Seren Winters. She’s single, four months pregnant, and trying not to worry about where she’ll be living by the end of the year. Still, the last thing she expects when she shows up for her first doctor-prescribed water aerobics class is a hot butch instructor. Even more unexpected is accidentally dunking her.

Despite an undeniable attraction, Seren is sure dating Paige is a bad idea. But can Paige change Seren’s mind before her two weeks teaching the class is up?

FROM THE AUTHOR

"For many years I avoided writing a story with a veterinarian as a main character. Writing is a vacation from my day job and I didn’t want to mix work with pleasure. I also didn’t want someone to assume a vet character was automatically me. But the truth is, I love being a veterinarian and there are so many stories I could share of the animals and people who have touched my life. At some point I realized I was being silly trying to keep the writing and the vet life completely separate. Still, Over the Moon With You is not a story taken from my personal experience. Seren and Paige are fictional characters and the animals—even the baby cows—exist only in my mind. Though if life imitates art, as Oscar Wilde says, instead of art imitating life, I really wouldn’t mind my own barn full of rescue cats, chickens, horses and a couple of cows.

This is a story about an unlikely meeting in a water aerobics class as much as it’s a story about following your dreams. I hope it’s also a story you can relax with on a Saturday afternoon knowing you won’t have to be the one to muck the stalls."

Kaye C. - I love so many things in this story. The communication is excellent. Paige is more awkward, but both are trying to be honest. The sweetness of a biking date is delightful as are all things with cows. The heat between the two is palpable. I liked the naturalness of the check ins and consent. Seren who is a massage therapist wants to give Paige a massage but checks in that it is okay and doesn’t conflict with their toppy role. These two make the loveliest couple. Throw in cats, dogs and baby cows and I’m over the moon in love with this romance.

Michele R. - The book was an excellent read with intense character; the contemplation of what both Seren and Paige wanted for their lives and their relationship; the spicy seniors from water aerobics; and the blazing hot love scenes, of which there were several, that amped up the book. 4.5 stars

L E - We all know Jaime Clevenger can write but I loved this book especially because she takes knowledge from her job as a vet into the storyline and it makes the plot really believable. Paige and Seren have such undeniable chemistry and I thoroughly enjoyed their flirty dialouges. Water aerobics as a meet cute is hilarious and very befitting to them, I wish I had a great story like that. The subtle, or not so subtle, teasing of the senior ladies were such a great addition and I loved Bea, Paige's mom, as a character as well. Clevenger knows how to write the steamy parts and definitely delivered here, it got really freaking hot.

D Booker - This story is all about how a relationship evolves, from the initial attraction to moving towards each next step and the delicate balance needed to navigate all the uncertainties that makes up life. I really liked the deep character development of both these characters. This book was also hilarious—from the spicy seniors, Paige’s mom to Seren’s bff Leslie, they kept me cracking up at their antics and banter. And lastly let’s not forget about steam coz it seriously packs a whole lot of fire and is the perfect payoff to the slow burn churning through the story. This was a wonderful weekend read that had plenty of romance, humor, steam and a low angst HEA that made my day.

Abbott F. - The author takes her time in building the relationship between Paige and Seren even as she is developing her characters. What she has created is one the better LesFic romances so far this year. There’s very little angst in this book which makes the story flow smoothly. Clevenger throws in humor and scenes we probably won’t see anywhere else any time soon like the birth of twin calves on the characters’ third date. The result is a very readable book that readers won’t want to put down. If you like well-written books with characters you’ll be sorry to say goodbye to at the end of the story, then this book is for you.

Queer A. Reviews - Over the Moon with You was a fun story to read, though it did have its moment where it had me feeling quite emotional. For that reason, this is probably my new favourite book by Jaime Clevenger. The characters were refreshingly real, and it showed through their actions and dialogue.

Raminta M. - This is a funny, sweet meet-cute at water aerobics class. Tall, butch and handsome vet falls for a cute, pregnant femme. There was a perfect amount of angst and steam. There were times I too, felt pregnant as I laughed out loud. I cannot wait for the audiobook, PLEASE get someone great!

Ashlee G. - This one was a great blend of sweet and spicy. The two MCs have great chemistry, and they were very cute together. The ladies in the water aerobics class are hilarious and I love that they end up being a fun group of aunts for Seren and Paige. I have read a couple of books by Jaime Clevenger now and I really enjoy the animals included in the plots. This one has a lot of cows and cats, and I am wishing I had a ranch of my own now so I could have my very own baby calf. This was a cute, feel-good book that I'd recommend for a lazy afternoon spent reading on the couch.

Betty H. - I’m glad I was able to read Over the Moon with You by Jaime Clevenger. This novel has just about everything I could ask for in a WLW romance. In this adorable love story, we have two beautiful main characters as well as a secondary group of folks that includes some spicy elderly ladies. I want to be one of those ladies when I get to be their age. To add even more to the adorable factor in this tale, we have cute and cuddly animals, including baby cows…just born baby cows.

These characters are so well-developed, you almost expect them to step out of the book and begin a conversation with you. The small town/rural setting is also well-described. The love story will melt your heart, and the lovable animals (Did I mention the baby cows?) will finish the heart-melting. This really is a beautiful character-driven romance, but I expect nothing less from Jaime Clevenger. I loved this novel and recommend it to all romance readers and animal lovers.

Karen C. - Jaime Clevenger is one of my favorite authors, and for her to finally write a veterinarian MC is a bonus! This is a butch/femme story with loads of chemistry between Paige and Seren. I enjoyed both the behind-the-scenes look at the world of large animal medicine and the home remodeling aspects. Plenty of emotional moments as to be expected when dealing with a pregnancy. Overall, an enjoyable hot read!

Carol C. - If you are looking for a great meet/cute story this one is for you. I have loved Ms. Clevenger's books so I had no doubt this one would be right up there with the others...and I was not wrong.

I was cheering for Seren and Paige right off the bat. I felt the courage for Seren to have a baby alone gave here such a strong presence and the humor Ms. Clevenger gave her with being pregnant, just had me smiling. As Paige comes into the picture as her instructor and the click between them, I just knew this was going to be great ride as these two got to know each other.

There is the supporting characters of the water ladies, they bring such humor to the storyline, I felt like I wanted to jump in to the water and take part they all were so fun. This book is just a fun summer read and if you are looking for a light, fun, laugh out loud story, pick this up before you stroll to the beach for the day.

Dominique V. - A Clevenger book that ended up being right up my alley with lots of cute animals, great main characters, some banter and small-town life. The fact that the pregnancy was a deliberate choice through a clinic and not with exes and stuff being there to complicate things made me enjoy the story even more. The concerns both parties have when it comes to joining lives just as one of the pair is pregnant are valid and are handled well, I believe. Overall, a sweet story I would recommend to anyone who likes a good romance from time to time.

Jennifer S. - Over the Moon with You is a great read, and I would recommend. This is the first novel I've read from author, Jaime Clevenger, and I can't wait to delve into her other books. I enjoyed the witty banter, steamy sex scenes, and cast of crazy old ladies. This is a book I could see myself returning to again on a good rainy day to fill some idle hours.
