Three Reasons to Say Yes

by Jaime Clevenger

When a little rest and relaxation turns into something more…

Julia Maguire can’t wait to spend two weeks in Hawaii with her best friends. She’s been dreaming about this trip for years and all she wants is to lay on a sandy beach with an icy cocktail in her hand. But those vacation goals change the moment she meets Reed Baxter.

Reed is a busy doctor with family demands. She’s in Hawaii to let go, not find love, and she’s not interested in any commitment. Adding a little heat to the vacation seems like a good idea as long as there aren’t expectations for anything more.

A Paradise Romance.

FROM THE AUTHOR

"Hawaii is one of my favorite places on earth. Before kids, my wife and I were lucky enough to travel there often but kids change things and most vacations are now spent visiting relatives.

Last year we did manage a trip to Hawaii with the kids and that was when I realized how different nearly every experience is as a parent. Hawaii still is paradise, don’t get me wrong, but with kids you slow down and enjoy the sunsets, splash in the waves and build sand castles more. With this slower pace, I found myself wanting to read island romances as I kicked back on the beach. Thus began a little daydreaming and before long I had an entire plot and too many characters to contain in one book.

Three Reasons To Say Yes begins a series of romances all set in island locations. The kid aspect certainly threw a few curveballs in this particular romance but to me Julia and Reed’s story is more about growing out of your comfort zone. Julia has issues about sex that she worries might be insurmountable and Reed has reservations about love in general. Opening your heart isn’t easy and Three Reasons to Say Yes is about that process. I hope you enjoy this mini vacation to paradise!"

Les Reveur
This is without a doubt my new favourite Jaime Clevenger novel. Honestly I couldn’t put it down from the first chapter. …All in all this book has the potential to be my book of the year. Truly, books like this don’t come around often that suit my reading tastes to a tee.

Pin’s Reviews - …this one was totally my cup of tea with its charming relationship and family dynamics, great chemistry between two likable protagonists, a very convincing romance, some angst, drama and tension to the right extent and in all the right moments, and some very nice secondary characters. On top of that, the writing is technically very good, with all elements done properly. Sincerely recommended.

Lex Kent’s Reviews - This is different than a traditional lesfic romance. It almost was a romantic family drama. I guess it’s more on the border between the two. The main premise is about two women wanting to have no strings sex. But what happens when feeling get involved? We have all read this premise before, but this take on it felt different. There was more involved and it just absolutely worked for me.

…I have to give a nod to really well done secondary characters. The secondary characters had such strong and real personalities that I almost cared about them as much as the two mains. This was better writing of secondary’s than we normally get to read. There are actually a few unanswered questions about the secondary characters. I don’t know if this is intentional because a sequel staring them might be planned. I sure hope so as I would absolutely read that book.

I definitely recommend this to people looking for something different than the traditional romance books. This was way better than I thought and I have high hopes others will enjoy this as much as I did.

The Lesbian Review
This was a really easy story to get into. I sank right in and wanted to stay there, because reading about other people on vacation is kind of like taking a mini vacation from the world! It’s sweet and lovely, and while it has some angst, it’s not going to hurt you. Instead, it’s going to take you away from it all so you can come back with a smile on your face.

I must say, “Three Reasons…” is one of the best stories I’ve read in 2018, thus far.

“Three Reasons To Say Yes” is a fascinatingly absorbing, compelling romance between two people who couldn’t be more different. I couldn’t recommend this book highly enough. It’s a MUST-READ. You won’t be disappointed! Thank you, Ms. Clevenger, for writing this refreshingly different and riveting butch/femme love story! Looking forward to the next installment of this incredible Series!

  2. xwpvoyager

a Hurlyburly tale of Romance. This is a chew up the scenery journey for two women, 2 toddlers and two BFFs. Julia is San Francisco Bay area twenty-something, a semi-successful career woman who has never been lucky in love and finds herself frozen when sexual intimacy develops in her past relationships. Reed is a thirty-something radiologist with a 9-5 job in the Sacramento area raising two 4 year olds and no time or flexibility for long term relationships, nice and easy is what suits her current social situation. Mo and Kate are Julia’s college roommates, Kate is engaged to be married and the 3 gals are headed to a long anticipated 2 week Hawaiian vacation, they have stayed super close since college but this will be their last hurrah before marriage. What happens when Julia and Reed develop a chemistry that ignite Julia to want more than Reed can give? Well, they chew up the scenery for 300 hundred pages and leave you gasping at all the surprises including up to the last page.

This book is wonderful! It flowed really well and it is technically sound. The characters are so lovable and easy to connect with. I fell a little in love with Reed…. I loved the conflict and the drama, there were realistic problems that needed to be overcome and I felt the author did a great job of keeping me hooked the whole way through.
